A flexitarian diet is for one that just wants to make an effort without fully committing to one diet in particular. A flexitarian follows a predominantly plant-based diet but tends to opt for the occasional meat-based option. They try t do their best to keep it as plant-based as possible but within the frame of their lifestyle and dietary needs and preferences.
A vegan diet is at the top of the list as it consists of only consuming plant-based foods, meaning they do not consume red meat, white meat, fish, fowl, eggs, and dairy products, instead their diet is made up of whole grains such as rice, lentils, and pasta as well as fruits and vegetables, dairy substitutes and a variety of meat replacements. This types vegetarian diet also does not purchase any products that are made or tested on animals such as beeswax, wool, and leather.
Keep in mind that you do not have to follow any one of these vegetarian types diets as it is more beneficial to find something that is best suited towards your lifestyle and something that is manageable in the long run. The overall goal of opting for a vegetarian diet is to somewhat decrease your overall meat consumption for the betterment of animals and our health as well as for the environment, sustainability, and the effects of global warming and climate change.
