The longer you allow your tempeh to marinate, the more flavor you will receive in every bite. • 1 block tempeh
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp black pepper

As mentioned before, this is one of the easiest tempeh marinade recipes you will ever follow. Begin by grabbing a large bowl that is more wide than it is deep. Add your olive oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, finely minced fresh garlic and black pepper to your dish. Whisk these ingredients together with a fork until they are well combined. There will be natural separation that occurs with the olive oil, this is nothing to worry about. Now that your marinade tempeh mixture is ready, you can cut your tempeh into small pieces. I suggest cutting your tempeh into ÂĽ inch strips as this will allow a lot of flavor to seep into them as well as will speed up the cooking process. Place your tempeh in your marinade and ensure that every piece is covered and evenly coated. Cover your dish with a reusable cover and place it in the fridge. You already know how long to marinate tempeh. As a reminder, anywhere over one hour is good, though preferably overnight. However much time you decide to let your tempeh sit, when they are done marinating, remove them from the fridge and get ready to cook your tempeh however you would like. How To Cook

Vegan Tempeh Marinade

There are so many tempeh marinades that exist, but you chose to follow this one. This tempeh marinade works great in a variety of low calorie tempeh recipes. Check out four different ways you can proceed to cook your tempeh following your marinating process.

If you are looking to eat your tempeh as a protein with side dishes, I suggest creating your own grilled tempeh marinade dish. After marinating, place your tempeh on the grill and cook until both sides are slightly charred. This will add a layer of smokiness to your tempeh which wouldn’t be achieved otherwise.

If you love adding tempeh into your salads, frying it up on the stove top is a great option for you. Tempeh marinades work great in a pan. Add your tempeh to a hot pan and pour in the remnants of the marinade. Fry your tempeh up for one to two minutes on each side until golden brown. This method will provide you with delicious chunks of garlic as the maple syrup will caramelize in the pan.

Whenever I am assembling a buddha bowl, I love to cook my tempeh in the oven. This will result in an even bake through and through. Golden on the outside and nice and hot on the inside. There is no going wrong with a good baked tempeh to add into any dish.

The most simple way to cook your marinated tempeh is by not cooking it at all. Try adding your raw marinated tempeh into some fresh rice paper rolls or on fresh bread with hummus. I know it may not sound appealing but I promise you it is delicious.
