Well, anything regular milk can be used for, powdered milk can be used for as well. Powdered milk is essentially a substitute for regular milk as well as a great addition to regular milk. By simply mixing the powder with water, you have milk. It is almost comparable to that of instant coffee. Add water and receive your drink. That being said, powdered milk is often used in baking, cooking and as a seasoning for certain foods. When used for baking, the use of powdered milk provides a more sweet and rich flavor to the final product. When cooking, you are intended to add ¼ cup of your powdered milk of choice to every cup of liquid milk that is required. Powdered milk has the ability to become caramelized due to its sugar contents, therefore the addition of powdered milk will cause your dish to become more brown more quickly. Powdered milk also has the ability to make your final product become more firm. What else is powdered milk used for? From experience, while reading the ingredients on many packaged foods, the ingredient that makes things non-vegan friendly is milk powder.
